Cement Elegance surfaces are seamless. Our unique one-piece surfaces are poured in place, forming a single continuous surface of virtually any size and shape.
Through extensive research and development, Cement Elegance has developed a proprietary cement formulation that will not crack under typical uses and conditions. In fact, our surfaces are warranted against cracking for one year.
Cement Elegance surfaces are virtually stain-proof. Our exclusive food-safe penetrating sealers and clear finishes provide the most durable and highest chemical resistance available. While natural stone and typical cement surfaces will stain, each Cement Elegance surface is sealed and protected from or common household substances and chemicals.
Cement Elegance surface finishes are rated to 400 degrees Farenheit transient exposure, however, we recommend using a trivet or inlaid ìhotspotî material for pans just off the stove.
Our surfaces are food safe and highly resistant to damage. However, cutting directly on any counter surface is not recommended as it can damage knives and mar the countertop. In the case of Cement Elegance surfaces, cutting can penetrate the topcoat and compromise the waterproof seal. We recommend using a cutting board.
Cement Elegance surfaces are surprisingly light, with an average weight of only 8 to 10 pounds per square foot -- much less than other concrete surfaces or granite (typically some18 pounds or more per square foot for a comparable thickness).
Yes! If décor change is desired, the surface color and appearance can be easily changed. Your clients can have a different look without having to demolish and replace the whole surface ñ all at a fraction of the cost, time, and mess of a new surface
Based on the appearance specified in your order, Cement Elegance surfaces use integral pigment (within the cement) as well as optional colors applied and sealed within the finish coat.
Cleaning and maintaining a Cement Elegance concrete surface is no more difficult than cleaning any other type of household surface. Just use a mild, non-abrasive, non-ammoniated soap for daily cleaning.
Our cements are engineered with compressive strengths of over 7,000 psi, and flexural strength of over 900 psi. Cement Elegance surfaces provide great durability and resistance to damage and will provide many years of service under normal use,
What about inlays, reliefs and fills?
If you have an existing countertop in sound structural condition, we can typically apply the cement surface directly over the top of the existing countertop.
What shape would you like? Our engineered cement is fine-grained and will flow into any form. This enables Cement Elegance to fabricate virtually any shape and to provide high definition in detail, shape, profile, and relief. In addition to our standard edge profiles, we can create custom profiles based on your design.
Only Cement Elegance offers installation times of 5 days or less for most projects.
The versatility of Cement Elegance surfaces delivers exciting design possibilities. Our special concrete formulations and fabrication techniques mean that a Cement Elegance concrete surface averages only one-half inch in thickness. Add the substrate thickness, and Cement Elegance can produce stable, durable surfaces as little as1 ¼ inch to as much as 9 inches in thickness--without any significant gain in weight.
