Cement Elegance serves designers, architects, contractors and homeowners providing innovative and highly crafted custom and production decorative cement surfaces.
We trace our beginnings to 1997 and one man's drive to create finely crafted surfaces in the custom homes he was building as a general contractor in Bend, Oregon. Rune Borgir soon became recognized for his innovative use of materials and dedication to quality and service.
Today, Cement Elegance is recognized as one of the driving forces behind the development and growing popularity of decorative cement surfaces.

Rune Borgir (bore gear’) was born in Norway and raised in various parts of the world including Venezuela, the United States, and Italy prior to settling in Oregon in the late 60’s. He attended high school and college in Corvallis and Eugene, respectively, but left college to start a career in creative ventures that included fine woodworking, remodeling, sculpture, and design. Upon moving to San Francisco in the early 80’s, Rune became immersed in renovation, restoration, and remodeling of historic and modern architecture, perfecting his craftsmanship of all trades in the building process, including tile, marble, and cement work. It was here that his vision of cement as an interior décor material began in the middle 90’s as the material began its birth into the marketplace alongside contemporaries such as Fu Tung Cheng, Buddy Rhodes, and Sonoma Stone.
Runes love of the mountains and outdoors brought him back to Oregon and upon moving to Bend in 1997 he started researching better methods and mixes more suitable for interior use. After experimenting in his own home on both counters and floors, he vigorously pursued a startup business performing interior cement counters, sinks, showers, tub decks, fireplaces, and one-of-a-kind artistic installations. With his work in decorative cement, Rune realized that he had found his calling as Cement Elegance quickly developed a reputation for unequaled quality, craftsmanship, and innovation.
A son of a musician and a professor, Rune is a jazz violinist in his spare time and applies his natural artistic talent to his cement craftsmanship.
